Seres Centre for Climate Change Education and Sustainable Development

Our Mission is to facilitate sustainable, grassroots community development and climate change adaptation through education, working side-by-side with at-risk communities to restore our Earth and create a thriving, just and sustainable world.

Our Vision is to help communities build resilience to climate change by providing them with the tools, knowledge, access to the latest social and technological innovations and mentoring in an environment where people, ideas and resources come together to find solutions that are socially just and environmentally sustainable.

Our current focus is the build the Seres Centre for Climate Change Education and Sustainable Development - a working demonstration of appropriate technology, alternative agricultural practices and low-environmental impact building methods. The purpose of the Centre is to help at-risk communities in Central America to build resilience to climate change by providing free education, tools, knowledge, resources, access to the latest social and technical innovations, mentoring and capacity building.

Our budget for building the Centre is $250,000 and we are currently looking for lead sponsors interested in helping us to achieve this vision.

Seres is partnered with the Project Somos Children's Village, who will be building a home for orphaned and abandoned children on the same land as the Seres Centre. Through this collaboration the Children's Village will be provided with renewable energy, low-cost sustainable technology and environmentally friendly housing, raising these children to be conscious and aware of the intricate connection between people and our fragile eco-system.

The two projects are working to building a leading-edge, sustainable community that shares common values of human care, earth care and triple-bottom line sustainability.
