Engineers Australia is proud to announce that 2011 is the Year of Humanitarian Engineering

In 2008 Vaughn was awarded young professional engineer of the year. He is a Mechanical engineer and Chemist and is a member of the SKM team based in WA.
With a strong interest in international and local aid projects Vaughn has focused his efforts on appropriate technology solutions in water supply, waste disposal and energy. At the time of this award Vaughn was Vice President of the WA branch of Engineers without Borders and is currently leading projects in Indonesia, East Timor and within remote regions of Australia focusing on water and sustainability issues.
He was the recipient of the 2007 UWA/SVT Acoustical Engineering Award for the Highest Mark in Acoustical Engineering and has received numerous leadership and community awards.
Vaughn embarked on a project in conjunction with the University of WA and the International Water Centre to develop an educational program to strengthen the capacity of the two universities in East Timor to provide more appropriately qualified water industry personnel whilst at the same time creating a strong reputation amongst Perth based clients of SKM.
