Mark plays a key role in ensuring the safety and well being of South Australians.

As the State’s Emergency Management Engineer, Mark has been responsible for strengthening South Australia’s emergency engineering capacity for response and recovery in the event of a disaster (fire, flood, earthquake, pandemic, etc).

Prior to this role, his engineering degree has took him all over the world – from London, to Kosovo, to Sierra Leone.

With such experience behind him, Mark would be well-placed to pursue his dream – of improving the timely supply of the three basic human needs in times of emergency (water, shelter and food). “In a world that is seeing more and more natural and man-made disasters, I would like to see better engineered humanitarian solutions developed,” he says.
