About Stanwell Corporation

A Queensland Government-owned corporation Stanwell was formed in 1997.

Stanwell Corporation is a power generator with a portfolio comprising coal-fired thermal wind and hydroelectric power generation facilities. Our operations supply electricity to satisfy the demand for energy from industrial and residential end users in Queensland and other Australian states served by the National Electricity Market (NEM).

Within the NEM Stanwell is a leader in providing environmentally responsible low cost reliable electricity to consumers. Stanwell is one of the few electricity generators in Australia with a dedicated renewable energy portfolio. Each of our power generating sites and activities demonstrates our commitment to the highest international environmental standards.

The Corporation is investing in projects and pursing partnerships that demonstrate economic social and environmental benefits and assist in consolidating our position in the NEM.
