Hedemora Diesel Australia began operations in 2006. Hedemora Diesel Australia is a new company backed by nearly a century of Swedish engineering experience from Hedemora AB. Hedemora has been designing and building its own diesel engines for more than 40 years and in that time has built a reputation for reliability and serviceability.

Over 300 Hedemora engines are installed world-wide in merchant and military navies power generation oil rigs and similar applications. These engines primarily function to support marine diesel powered platforms in Defence (naval ships and submarines), Maritime (ships tugs and ferries) and offshore (oil rig and FPSOs).

Hedemora is Australia's only fully owned and operated heavy duty diesel engine design and manufacturing company. It has strong associations with several defence suppliers and scientific and research organisations. Hedemora Australia intends to establish design and manufacturing capacity in Australia for domestic and export markets.

Hedemora engines can be found in service across the world in tough conditions where unique power solutions are required such as:

• Navy vessels and submarines as main propulsion units including Collins Class submarines
• Cargo ships ferries survey and support vessels
• Offshore rigs for power generation
• Traction power for Diesel-electric locomotives
