Capral Aluminium

About Capral Aluminium

Capral previously known as Alcan Australia commenced operations in Australia in 1936. In August 1994, the Company's Canadian parent company Alcan Aluminium Limited sold off its shares in the Australian and New Zealand operations. As a result the name of the Company was changed to Capral Aluminium Limited.

On the 31 October 2005, the Company's subsidiary Aluminium Extrusion and Distribution Pty Ltd acquired the aluminium businesses from the Crane Group for approx $124 million. This purchase extends Capral's investment in the Australian aluminium industry and adds to our strong position as a major extruder and distributor with excellent products experienced people and a proven R&D capability.

Capral is a substantial manufacturer of aluminium products with assets of $425 million and an experienced management team. The initiatives taken and the improvements which are shaping the Company have helped to sharply define Capral's strategic direction.
