About Aurora Energy

Aurora Energy is a Tasmanian Government owned electricity distribution and retail company. Aurora Energy were formed in July 1998 pursuant to the Electricity Companies Act and incorporated under the Corporations Law. Aurora Energy have two shareholders - the Minister for Energy and the Treasurer. Aurora Energy are one of only two companies licensed to retail gas in Tasmania and the only dual energy retailer in the State.
